Memory…Wait, What Were We Talking About?

bfood_vitherbs_cdhead

Your brain requires norepinephrine, manufactured from the amino acid tyrosine, to make new memories and send them to long-term storage.11 “What’s the point?” you ask.

The short answer is that foods with tyrosine – almonds, bananas, dairy products, lima beans, avocados, pumpkin and sesame seeds – help your child retain memories. Of course it helps in school. And, maybe more importantly for you, “I forgot” will no longer be an acceptable excuse for your child not taking out the garbage.
